In partnership with Gloucestershire Constabulary

Rural crime continues to place growing pressure on farms and rural businesses across the UK. Organised gangs are increasingly targeting farm machinery, GPS kits, trailers, and valuable equipment, often from isolated farms and estates where access is easier and recovery is harder.

Based on claims statistics from NFU Mutual, rural crime in Gloucestershire was estimated to have cost £992,000 in 2024. Across the South West, rural theft cost farmers an estimated £6.7 million. The National Farmers' Union has called for urgent action to protect the livelihoods of farmers and rural communities from the escalating threat of organised crime.

To help tackle this issue locally, VIN Chip has partnered with Gloucestershire Constabulary to provide a limited number of subsidised VIN Chip security systems for farms, estates, and rural businesses across Gloucestershire.

From as little as £25, the VIN Chip security system provides traceable property marking that deters criminals and helps police identify and recover stolen equipment. Widely recognised by law enforcement, it is an affordable and effective way to improve farm equipment security and rural crime prevention.

Availability is limited. This initiative is exclusively for Gloucestershire farms, estates, and rural businesses, and only 200 VIN Chip systems remain available as part of this programme. Once allocated, no further kits will be available at this price.
